Apple recently launched the iPhone 15 series in India. While the company lauded several new features, there is a flagship from 2021 in the Android world that can compete with the iPhone 15 in terms of raw specifications. We are talking about the Samsung Galaxy S21. This two-generation old vanilla flagship has enough punch on paper to make the iPhone 15 look like a steep bargain for the price.
To give you a detailed look, here are the top five parameters of the phones compared.
120Hz Refresh Rate
The S21 5G sports a 6.2-inch FHD+ AMOLED 2X screen with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. While Apple has not mentioned it on the website several reports claim the phone has a 60Hz refresh rate only. The iPhone 15 has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED panel with a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits.

Performance
Being an old device the S21 5G will offer degraded performance than the A16 on the iPhone 15. However, the Android flagship's 5nm octa-core chip on the inside has enough power to handle typical daily tasks coupled with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM. But the iPhone 15 takes the lead here.
Software
As for the OS, the 2021 flagship clearly lags behind due to the older shelf life of updates. The iPhone 15 runs on the latest iOS 17 and is a better pick here as well. But the extra features, customisation options and usability are a plus point on Android.
Battery
The S21 has a 4,000mAh battery with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging support, according to PhoneArena. Apple has not confirmed the battery specifications on its website. Reports claim the phone supports 20W wired charging.
More Cameras
While the iPhone 15 comes with a dual 48MP + 12MP ultrawide setup, the S21 offers a 12MP + 12MP + 64MP setup on the back with 3X Hybrid Optic Zoom. On the front, the new Apple device offers a 12MP and the S21 gets a 10MP selfie camera. Plus, the phone from 2021 offers 8K video recording. As for the extras, the S21 also gets an ultrasonic fingerprint reader.
