JE Technology Desk: Nothing will launch the highly anticipated Nothing Phone (2) smartphone in India on July 11, and Carl Pei, the company's CEO, recently teased a Type-C to Type-C cable that the upcoming smartphone will likely have in the box package. And to keep the tech fraternity excited, Nothing shared a few striking facts about the transparent Type-C cable. Here are each of them in detail.
Two years in development
The company shared that the new cable was in the making for two years. This implies that the accessory was tested rigorously behind the scenes before its first global appearance online.

Planned for Nothing Phone (1)
The company shared that the cable was planned to launch with Nothing's first smartphone, the Nothing Phone (1).
20 design concepts
The design team prepared 20 concepts, most of which got scratched by the partners due to the manufacturing tussle involved in the process. Finally, the smartphone maker planned to make it transparent.
Industry-first moulding process
In its endeavour to create a seamless iron shell, the company had to shift to an industry-first moulding process. "Stretching the material four times and annealing it at more than 1,000 degrees three times," the tweet said. The output was a seamless design and zero surface defects.
Extra protection from scratches
Nothing added that the charging cable underwent "sandblasting, pre-plating, and electroless plating" to minimise scratches.
Besides these, the C-C cable has passed over 25 tests including "strict plugging and unplugging, salt spray and current resistance." "We pushed boundaries and went 60% beyond industry standards when it comes to bending, passing our bending test more than 16,000 times," Nothing said in a tweet.
Speaking of the Phone (2), the company's second smartphone will launch on Flipkart. Recently, a media report leaked the price of the upcoming handset. You can read more on this here.
