Nvidia GeForce Now App: Nvidia is extending its GeForce Now cloud gaming service to some Amazon Fire TV devices with a new dedicated app. It is ahead of its official India launch and enables users to directly stream expensive games to their streaming sticks without needing a gaming console or a powerful PC. With the ability to play AAA games over the internet without any stuttering or lag, GeForce Now wants gaming consumers to potentially avoid buying a load of expensive new hardware.

GeForce Now on Amazon Fire TV

Finally, on Thursday, Nvidia put the GeForce Now app on several Amazon Fire TV models. The app now works on Fire TV Stick 4K Plus (2nd Gen) and Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen) with Fire OS 8.1.6.0 or higher. It's available on Fire TV Stick 4K Max (1st Gen) running Fire OS 7.7.1.1 and later.

Nvidia said it plans to add support for other Fire TV devices down the line.

When using the new app, you can stream games at up to 1080p resolution and 60 fps with traditional dynamic range graphics. The service offers H.264 video encoding with stereo sound. With compatible controllers, users can connect the same to Fire TV and enjoy console-level gaming without restrictions of localised hardware.

GeForce Now streams games from cloud servers so you don’t need a powerful CPU or GPU of your own. Players are able to play major titles such as IO Interactive’s forthcoming 007: First Light directly from supported devices. It was also recently launched on Linux, going beyond Windows and macOS.
