Homegrown AI business Ola unveiled the Android app of its AI offering Krutrim and opened access to its cloud platform to developers, enterprises and more entities. The cloud service will offer access to the AI computing infrastructure, Krutrim's foundational models, and open-source models to these users.

Krutrim AI assistant is based on the brand's large language model (LLM) and aims to simplify AI for everyone, OLA said in a statement, according to IANS. The company announced Model-as-a-Service (MaaS) for developers accessing the LLMs and the open-source models, which are hosted on its cloud. These will help them access advanced GPU infrastructure to accelerate and improve productivity.

The company also plans to unveil AI models for voice, image and understanding, generation and pre-tuned LLM agents. Ola launched the AI chat in public beta in February after introducing it in December last year. The first product is powered by a multilingual LLM which supports 10 languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada and Gujarati. It also supports Hinglish.

According to Moneycontrol, support for 22 languages is expected by the end of 2024. Krutrim markets the mobile app as an assistant to help people in text generation for emails, messages, blogs and more. Plus, it can return answers to general queries of news, trends and more.

For the unaware, Krutrim has been available within the company's ride-hailing platform for a while now. An iOS app for Krutrim is also expected soon, the report noted. This could stack the AI chatbot next to models competing with popular language models from OpenAI, Microsoft, Google and more.
