OnePlus Open India Launch Teased: OnePlus, a Chinese smartphone maker, has officially teased its first folding phone in India. This comes after a series of rumours about the device that leaked about every essential detail of the phone. It will likely launch in the second half of this month in the country and other markets.

The book-style foldable was recently spotted in the hands of Bollywood fame Anushka Sharma (according to reports), which sparked the momentum around the launch once again. In the teaser image on X (formerly called Twitter) shared by the company, the phone is visible with the signature Alert Slider and the power and volume buttons on the other side of the frame.

"A true OnePlus experience awaits. Opening Soon," OnePlus India's official X account posted. Based on the previous renders, the phone will have a more compact height and wider width compared to the current leader, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, which is undisputed in its league in the country.

OnePlus' Fold Expected Launch Date

According to speculations from the leaks channel, the device could arrive on October 19. However, this has not been confirmed by OnePlus.

According to reports, the flagship could have a 7.8-inch 2K AMOLED main and 6.3-inch AMOLED 120Hz screens. Under the hood, it may run on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. As for the software, the OnePlus Open will likely have custom OxygenOS skin based on Android 13 (or Android 14). As for the battery, the phone may have a 4,800mAh cell with 100W charging. Moving to optics, OnePlus' Fold could offer a 48MP primary, 48MP ultrawide and 64MP telephoto rear and 32MP and 20MP front cameras.

OnePlus Open Expected Price

According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the device could land under the Rs 1.2 lakh price category. This could give the phone an edge over Samsung's Z Fold 5. Speaking of more competition, Tecno Phantom V Fold is another book-style foldable that competes in this space and is priced below one lakh.
