The upcoming Oppo K15 Turbo Pro is back in the rumour cycle, and this time the discussion isn’t just about features — it’s about a possible shift in chipset strategy. New leaks suggest that Oppo may move away from Snapdragon for its next Turbo-series performance model, while still retaining the gaming-heavy positioning that has defined this lineup.

According to fresh claims, the K15 Turbo Pro could debut with a new MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, hinting at a more experimental performance approach from Oppo. The leaked details indicate that the phone may feature a 6.78-inch flat LTPS OLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 50-megapixel main rear camera, a large battery, and an active cooling setup with a built-in fan. Interestingly, the leak also suggests that Oppo may eventually bring fan-based cooling to more affordable models in the lineup.

There is also talk of a Dimensity 9500e variant existing alongside the 9500s, which could create confusion around performance tiers if both chips end up appearing in different devices. For now, details about the chipset’s positioning remain limited, and the final configuration of the K15 Turbo Pro is still not fully clear.

What makes things more intriguing is that this new report contrasts an earlier leak from the same source. In that earlier claim, the Oppo K15 Turbo Pro was tipped to launch with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, along with the same 1.5K LTPS display, dust and water resistance, active cooling support, and a battery capacity said to cross the 8,000mAh mark — a significant jump over the previous generation.

The context here matters because Oppo’s Turbo series already has a strong identity around thermal performance. The Oppo K13 Turbo Pro, launched earlier this year alongside the standard K13 Turbo, introduced inbuilt cooling fans and air ducts as standout features. It runs on a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and comes with a 6.80-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, dual rear cameras, an expansive vapour cooling chamber, 80W fast charging, and multiple water-resistance ratings.

With two contrasting leaks now in circulation — one pointing to Snapdragon and another toward MediaTek — the Oppo K15 Turbo Pro is shaping up to be one of the more interesting gaming-focused smartphone launches ahead. More clarity is likely as Oppo moves closer to an official announcement, especially around which chipset ultimately defines the device’s performance story.
