Vivo is set to release its Android 16-based custom skin, OriginOS 6 on October 15. The latest edition gets a complete design update, smoother performance and enhanced integration with AI — all of which is a big step up from OriginOS 5. Along with its availability in China, Vivo and iQOO users in India will start getting the update soon enough and starting from flagship devices.
OriginOS 6 Release Date
The world announcement, however, is scheduled for October 15, with Indian rollouts starting shortly after that. The update is coming in stages, with premium phones getting it first before trickling down to mid-range and cheap devices, according to Vivo. Look for a combination of visual enhancements, AI-driven features and a few longer-lasting battery and performance boosts in store.

What’s New in OriginOS 6
Vivo is adopting a translucent visual aesthetic reminiscent of Apple’s iOS 18 (referred to as iOS 26 in some reports). The new Gradual Blur and Light and Shadow Space systems give the interface depth, fluidity, and realism. Lock screen notifications are redesigned, wallpapers react to motion, and the Xiao V AI assistant gets new animations.
Performance-wise, OriginOS 6 promises up to 15% more memory optimisation in games, up to 11% quicker app launches and 18% longer video playback. AI features are on the front burner and include allowing users to remove objects from Live Photos, organize notes through Xiao V Memory 2.0, and perform natural language search in system apps.

Eligible Devices
Live’s X Series (X200 lineup, X100 lineup and the X90 lineup) is first to get it followed by other foldables such as 5G Fold 5, 3 Pro Fold and X Flip. There's also support for mid-tier V series (V60, V50, V40 and V30) and T series (T4 and T3 ranges) phones. Even a few Y Series models – the Y400, Y300, Y200, and the new-for-2013 39 – will see the update.
The first wave consists of iQOO 13, 12, 12 Pro and Neo 11 lineups.
The Bottom Line
With originOS 6, Vivo integrates the beauty of design with intelligence and speed. The Android 16-derived skin will offer new UI aesthetics, stronger AI capabilities and support updates for years — bringing Vivo and iQOO devices up to a solid OS tier.
