In times of rapid AI innovations, a company has introduced a device that aims to cement a new approach to studying and exploring human consciousness. With the AI 'Halo headband', Prophetic aims to usher lucid dreams for the wearer. In simpler terms, the device strives to control the dreams. If the last line sparked your interest, here are the essential details to know about the device.

The Halo uses a combo of "ultrasound and machine learning models" to detect if the dreamer is in the Rapid Eye Movement (REM) stage, where most dreams happen, to "induce and stabilise lucid dreams". The device comes with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity to connect to the Prophetic app and ships with a battery that can last for a night.

The tool's Morpheus-1 system generates "neural activation sequence patterns of natural lucid dreams on demand by utilising multi-element focused ultrasound, generative 3D spatial pulse controls, functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) training data, and electroencephalogram (EEG) sensors."

This closed-loop neurostimulation device uses EEG feedback to spatially generate "ultrasonic pulses" for lucid dreams. In simple terms, once the device detects the REM state of the wearer, it will transfer signals to the brain to simulate dreams. Lucid Dreaming is a state in which the dreamer is aware they are asleep. "In a lucid dream, the dreamer can control the dreamworld, dream narrative, speak to dream characters, and much more," the company noted.

In this apparatus, "the only limiting factor to your experience is your imagination. You can construct and explore extraordinary environments, speak with dream characters, and even fly," it added. Prophetic is currently looking for beta testers to test the prototype of Halo. It will help refine the product before final production.

Selected users will get the chance to have an "ultrasonically induced lucid dream" and "given conscious experiences that you will never forget". Buyers can also reserve the device for $100 on the brand's website. No official details of India availability are live. The estimated cost of the AI device is $2,000. The device's shipping will likely begin next year.
