Redmi 12 will debut in India on August 1 in the budget segment. The Chinese smartphone maker has been teasing the phone for a while now, and we have several hints from the rumour mill that has given us a detailed look at the handset even before the launch.

The smartphone is confirmed to come with a "Crystal Glass Design" and Redmi's "biggest display" ever. It will have a 50MP camera on the back. To give you a detailed look at the expected specifications and price of the handset, here is a report.

Redmi 12 5G Specifications (Expectations)

According to reliable tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Redmi 12 5G could come with a 6.79-inch FHD+ 90Hz LCD screen and 550nits of peak brightness. It could weigh 199g and have a thickness of 8.17mm. As per the images shared on the official website, the phone will have a centre-punch hole display and a dual camera setup. Under the hood, the phone may sport a 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor and Adreno 613 GPU. It may debut with Android 13 on top of MIUI 14.

The phone may sport a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging. As for the optics, a 50MP + 2MP lens on the back and a 5MP selfie shooter. For connectivity, the handset will likely have Wi-Fi 5, a headphone jack, Bluetooth and a Type-C port. As for security, a side-mounted fingerprint could sit on the frame.

Redmi 12 Expected Price

According to Yadav, the Redmi 12 could launch in two trims: 4G and 5G. Redmi 12 4G could have two variants: 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 128 GB. The lineup may start from Rs 9,999. The 5G models may also come in two variants: 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256 GB. It could arrive at a starting price of Rs 13,999. Speaking of other launches, the company may also launch the Redmi Watch 3 Active and the Xiaomi TV X series on the same day.
