Reliance Jio has rolled out a new “Safety-First” feature for its JioBharat phones, unveiled at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025. The update is designed to make digital communication safer and more reliable for Indian families using Jio’s affordable mobile platform.

The Safety-First feature set enhances user confidence with essential yet powerful tools that prioritise safety, privacy, and device reliability. According to Jio, this initiative blends secure communication, real-time monitoring, and phone health management into one cohesive system for everyday use.

Key Safety Features

The Safety First suite brings four main capabilities aimed at keeping families connected and protected:

-Location Monitoring: Enables families to check the real-time location of loved ones using the JioBharat device.

-Usage Manager: Lets users manage calls and messages, block unwanted numbers, and limit access to inappropriate content.

-Phone and Service Health: Shares vital updates on battery performance and network strength to ensure uninterrupted usage.

-Always Available Mode: Delivers up to seven days of backup power to maintain continuous communication during emergencies.

Designed for Every Family Member

Jio emphasised that the new feature supports diverse household needs—helping children stay connected safely without social media distractions, keeping elderly members reachable with location and health updates, and offering women an added sense of security while travelling.

During IMC 2025, Jio showcased real-world scenarios highlighting how these functions improve family safety and connectivity. The launch aligns with the company’s mission to bring accessible, inclusive technology solutions to every corner of India.

Sunil Dutt, President of Reliance Jio, said the update represents the brand’s commitment to using technology to “connect, protect, and empower” people. He described Safety First as a practical step toward safer communication for millions of everyday users.

The new Safety-First-enabled JioBharat phones are now available at Jio Stores, major retail outlets, JioMart, Amazon, and Swiggy Instamart, starting at Rs. 799.
