Samsung One UI 8 rollout has been on a fast track, with 2022's Galaxy A73 as the latest to receive One UI 8.0 upgrades. Originally sold with Android 12 OS and promising four main updates over time, One UI 8.0 for Android 16 represents its final major OS upgrade.

One UI 8.0 Update Details

The firmware update has arrived in some Asian markets, such as Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam and comes with version A736BXXUAGYJ1. The update is around 2.5GB in size and brings the September 2025 security patch (it’s not a fall month yet though).

To install, you can go to Settings → Software update → Download and install. When it is downloaded, just tap 'Install now', and the device will automatically reboot.

What’s New with One UI 8

One UI 8 features a cleaner design, better multitasking and smarter system-level AI integrations that make navigation and personalisation more seamless. Samsung’s new Android 16 base will have a better extracted battery, faster animations and implemented privacy with users in mind.

2022: Shipped with Android 12

2022 (late): Received Android 13 / One UI 5.0

2023: Got Android 14 / One UI 6.0

Early 2025: Updated to Android 15 / One UI 7.0

October 2025: Now running Android 16 / One UI 8.0

Samsung will continue supporting the Galaxy A73 through security patches and bug fixes.
