Samsung used its IFA 2025 stage to launch the Vision AI Companion, an upgraded AI experience designed for its TVs and monitors. The update combines Samsung’s existing AI innovations into one hub, anchored by a smarter version of the Bixby voice assistant.
The company says the goal is to make TVs more central to the connected home, not only for streaming but also for productivity, learning, and daily tasks.

“With Vision AI Companion, we are redefining what a TV can do, going beyond picture quality and sound to deliver an experience that understands you, interacts with you and evolves with you over time,” said Kevin Lee, Executive Vice President of Samsung’s Visual Display Business.
Conversational and Visual Intelligence
Vision AI Companion introduces a more natural, conversational interface powered by generative AI. By pressing the AI button on the remote, users can ask questions, receive contextual answers, and even get related images or videos.
The system supports follow-up interactions and can respond to queries about what’s on-screen — from identifying artwork to providing film details or travel tips. Answers appear visually, turning the TV into a discovery tool rather than just a display.
Unified AI Features in One Place
Instead of switching between apps or menus, Vision AI Companion brings Samsung’s AI features into one interface, including:
- Live Translate – real-time translation of conversations and subtitles.
- Generative Wallpaper – dynamic, personalised visual backgrounds.
- AI Picture, AI Upscaling Pro, and Active Voice Amplifier Pro – automatic tuning of image and sound quality.
- AI Gaming Mode – optimised settings for smoother gameplay.
- Third-party AI apps – integration of Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity directly on TVs for productivity and information support.
From CES Concept to Consumer Reality
The Vision AI idea first appeared at CES 2025 as a concept aimed at enhancing TV screens with smarter AI features. Now, Samsung is rolling it out to consumers with added personalisation, multi-device integration, and contextual support.
Samsung is also committing to seven years of free software upgrades and security patches via the One UI Tizen platform, ensuring longevity for supported models.
