Samsung’s next major software update, One UI 8.5, appears to be moving closer to public rollout. A new beta build for the Galaxy S25 series has reportedly surfaced on Samsung’s internal test servers, hinting that the company may soon begin public testing of its upcoming interface.

One UI 8.5 is expected to launch officially with the Galaxy S26 series early next year, introducing new Galaxy AI features, camera upgrades, and smarter system optimisations.

One UI 8.5 Beta Spotted on Samsung’s Test Servers

Tipster Tarun Vats (@tarunvats33) shared on X that Samsung’s first One UI 8.5 beta builds have appeared on the company’s test servers. The builds reportedly carry the following firmware numbers:

- S938NKSU7ZYKP

- S938NOKR7ZYKP

- S938NKSU7CYKP

These firmware versions likely belong to the Galaxy S25 series, though it remains uncertain which models will receive beta testing first. As expected, normal users cannot access these internal builds; their presence indicates public beta testing may start within weeks.

Samsung had originally planned to release One UI 8.5 as a public beta in November, but due to changes with Galaxy S26 launch plans it was postponed until now. An emergent test build suggests these delays may soon come to an end.

Expected Features in One UI 8.5

Leaks indicate that Samsung appears to be placing particular emphasis on AI-powered optimisation, improved user control and improving camera performance.

1. Pro Camera Presets

One UI 8.5 may introduce Pro camera presets, allowing users to:

- Save custom camera settings in Pro mode

- Switch between presets instantly

- Improve shooting speed for professional photographers

This feature would make Samsung’s Pro mode much more flexible and user-friendly.

2. Priority Notifications

Another highlight is Priority Notifications, expected to be powered by Galaxy AI. This feature could:

- Automatically detect important alerts

- Display them at the top of the notification shade

- Reduce clutter by pushing less important alerts lower

This is similar to intelligent notification sorting seen on other AI-driven platforms.

3. Network Battery Saver

The One UI 8.5 update may also bring a Network Battery Saver feature designed to:

- Limit network usage during idle hours

- Reduce background data activity

- Extend battery life, especially overnight

- This addition would be particularly useful for users who want improved standby efficiency.

Official Release Timeline

- Public Beta: Expected within the coming weeks

- Stable Release: Likely to launch alongside the Galaxy S26 series in early 2026

- Devices: Galaxy S25 series to receive beta first, followed by other flagships

As with previous updates, Samsung may expand the beta program to older premium devices such as those belonging to the Galaxy S24 series.

In Short

One UI 8.5 beta has been spotted on Samsung servers, signalling an upcoming public beta.

Expected features include:

- Pro camera presets

- Priority Notifications powered by Galaxy AI

- Network Battery Saver

Final rollout expected with the Galaxy S26 early next year.

One UI 8.5 promises to deliver significant upgrades that focus on AI intelligence, camera control and battery optimisation - giving Samsung users even smoother software experiences.
