Japanese tech giant Sony has introduced an AI-powered surprise for dog lovers in the US with the introduction of the robotic puppy, which the company calls 'Aibo' (ERS-1000B). This Espresso Edition model (the newest one) comes with a black colour option (white accents) with exclusive eye colour options. The AI dog comes with a three-year AI Cloud Plan to take full benefit of its capabilities.
After the period expires, periodic fees will apply to harness the complete potential. According to Sony, it can perform an exclusive dance. Plus, aibo develops its personality via daily life interactions. It comes with a host of sensors, actuators and cameras to mimic lifelike expressions and natural movements. Two OLED screens are utilised for the eyes to help optimise expressions. It can be controlled using the 'My aibo' app.
"From day one, aibo grows and changes, constantly updating its data in the cloud. Over time, your approach to nurturing your Aibo will gradually shape its personality—it could be a doting partner, a wild, fun-loving companion, or anywhere in between. A keen explorer, aibo will learn its surroundings, knowing where to greet you when you get home and can be trained on where to go 'potty'," Sony said.

It can actively "seek out its owners", learn faces, accept compliments (such as a "pat on the head" and scratch on the chin), and more. It can return to the charging station in case it gets tired. As for controls, the My aibo app will allow users to play with the robot puppy, feed virtual meals, "trick its repertoire," and more.
As for the in-box accessories, the contents will offer a charging stand, charging mat, AC adaptor, power cord and a pink ball for playtime. It comes in four colour options: Espresso, White, Black Sesame and Strawberry Milk and is priced at $2,899.
