Telegram Update: Encrypted messaging application Telegram has announced a wide range of features for its users. It is an effort to improve the user experience and compete better with other social media platforms. For starters, the company has introduced a feature to discover channels similar to the ones you follow. Plus, the option to repost and add video messages to stories is also available in the update.

For a quick glimpse, here are all the features introduced by the company.

Find Similar Channels - Telegram will now recommend similar public channels in a list format once a user joins a channel. The list is accessible from the channel's profile page also.

Repost Stories - Accounts can now repost stories to their page while adding extra content such as text, sound or video comments.

Video Messages - When sharing stories, users can now add a video note for commentary. These can be resized and placed anywhere in the screen space.

Profile Colours - Premium accounts can apply a "unique colour combination with logos" for their profiles for a unique appearance.

Same Chat Wallpapers - Premium users can apply the same wallpaper on both the sender and receiver end of the chat for a similar appearance.

Voice-to-Text - Already available for Premium accounts, free users can transcribe up to two messages in a week into text from a video or voice message. It will be released for users gradually and can be used from the 'A' icon next to the message.

Story Stats - Telegram Channels users who post stories can view stats such as views, shares and reactions using a graph to track the progress of the content.

Custom Reactions In Channels - A new interface to manage reactions will be present for admins to alter emojis in the reaction list.

Code Highlighting - Telegram apps can now identify code language and highlight the syntax in messages sent with proper code formatting.

Topics - If a group has Topics enabled, users can choose to view content as Messages or Topics.

Plus, the company added Thanos Snap Effects on iOS before the auto-deletion of messages. The update is available for iOS users and on the official app downloaded from the Telegram website. "The Google Play version is being reviewed by the store and will become available later," Telegram said.
