Tinder, a popular dating application in the global market, has now introduced a new feature which will allow others to act as matchmakers and promote possible profiles to the users on the platform. The new tool is called Tinder Matchmaker, and is available in different countries including India. It is also expected to roll out in other countries in the coming weeks.

The "friend test" is successfully incorporated into the platform by the "Tinder Matchmaker" feature. Users, even if they do not have the Tinder profile or not, can invite others to browse or recommend matches to them.

"For years, singles have asked their friends to help find their next match on Tinder, and now, we're making that so easy with Tinder Matchmaker," said Melissa Hobley, Tinder's Chief Marketing Officer. "Tinder Matchmaker incorporates your circle of trust into your dating journey, allowing you to uncover opportunities you may have overlooked from the perspective of people closest to you," she added.

Users can start a Tinder Matchmaker session from within the app's settings or straight from their profile card. After that, they get 24 hours to share a special link with up to 15 people. The matchmaker can proceed as a guest or log in to Tinder if a friend clicks the link, subject to age verification and acceptance of Tinder's rules. Matchmakers cannot initiate discussions or send messages on behalf of Tinder users, but they have a 24-hour window in which to suggest profiles.

When a Tinder session ends, users may see which of their matchmakers' profiles they liked. Matchmaker-approved profiles will have a "recommendation" icon on them. They learn more about their friends' tastes, Tinder users still have the final say in who they "Like."

With over 530 million downloads, Tinder is the most downloaded app worldwide for meeting new people. It was released in 2012. The software supports over 45 languages and is accessible in 190 countries.
