AI, AI, AI…. It has been a buzzword for the past few years since ChatGPT came into existence. Google, Samsung, Apple, NVIDIA, and all the tech giants were shocked as it was the first AI that skyrocketed in popularity. Soon after that several AI came, not just text-based, but even image and video-based. Samsung even dedicated the launch event of 2024 to AI and introduced awesome AI features in their smartphone. Similarly, Google has recently replaced their Google Assistant with Gemini. Currently, there are some things that Google Assistant used to do better than Gemini but we can see Gemini’s bright future ahead.

Google also launched its Project Astra, which takes the AI game to the next level giving it camera capabilities and great recognition abilities similar to Jarvis that you might have seen in the IronMan movies from Marvel.

What is Project Astra?

Project Astra is a part of Google’s Deepmind AI, an AI that understands your world. It has been in the experimental stages since last year. However, this year in MWC 2025 Google demonstrated their Project Astra in Gemini and showcased how it will make your life easy. Here is the official video from Google that will help you understand what truly Google’s Project Astra is capable of.

Google Gemini Gets Project Astra for Android

As presented in MWC 2025, at the time of the demonstration Google said that a much anticipated AI feature will be available for users by the end of March. And now we have a Reddit user who got access to Project Astra features on Gemini and shared a video that you can watch below.

In the demo, Gemini can see the user’s screen and tell what is going on on the screen. Project Astra lets you share your screen or camera to allow Gemini to see and voice chat in real time. You can open Gemini Live and show your surroundings to interact with Gemini instantly. Google has confirmed to The Verge that the feature is rolling out.
