WhatsApp, an instant messaging application, continues to make useful adjustments for its users in its app in the beta channel. The company recently announced its WhatsApp Channels feature in India, and it is now releasing a message reaction filtering feature which will allow admins to view post reactions from their contacts using a new filter, according to WABetaInfo.
As per the report, the feature is rolling out on iOS beta version "23.23.1.71." The option was earlier spotted on the Android version. This feature will let channel admins identify if their contacts or any channel member has reacted to the post via an emoji, simplifying the identification of posts popular among contacts.

In the screengrab shared in the report, the new "Contacts" filter is visible next to the "All" option to segregate reactions within the reaction list. "You can only view individual reactions from contacts," the description of the filter read. Using this filter, admins can bifurcate responses and check out the total reactions and how many contacts have reacted to the post.

Contacts Reactions Filtering Feature: How Is It Helpful?
With the feature, users can check how their phonebook accounts react to the content shared in a WhatsApp Channel and explore inherent trends. This can offer details into how these contacts consume the types of content. Based on the reaction count and quality, they can realign the strategies for better overall engagement.
This will serve as a feedback mechanism for channel managers and refine future updates. A reader must note that only channel admins can view these reactions due to the exclusivity of the feature. Channel subscribers or users cannot check reactions.
To test out the feature, you can update your iOS app via TestFlight and check whether the feature is available on your device. On a related note, the company is also testing AI-based messages for support queries to deliver speedy replies. Plus, the option to initiate group calls with up to 31 participants on iOS is also in works. You can read more on this here.
