WHATSAPP regularly grabs attention for its feature trials under beta across platforms. In its latest attempt, the Meta-owned platform is working on a feature that allows a user to share a status update to Facebook stories while staying within the messaging app, reported WABetaInfo.

The news tracker noted that the feature is under development on iOS with the name 'Share status updates'. Whatsapp settings label the version as 2.23.7.75. Currently, the feature is not "ready to be released to beta testers," the news tracker reports. Further, the platform offered a sneak peek into the upcoming option.

In the screenshot shared of "WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.7.0.75 update," available via TestFlight, the option is visible in the Status Privacy menu. A new option that reads "share my status updates across my accounts" is listed below the status visibility options. This will enable a user to share the update on Facebook without exiting the instant messaging app.

Earlier, the route was longer because a user had to manually share a status update to their FB stories audience. The upcoming feature will automate that process. A user can "control which status updates are always shared" by toggling it from the settings. The option is off by default.

The upcoming feature will help users who upload status regularly save time by omitting the effort of manual uploading to stories. This will further help expand their audience as Facebook has a diverse audience. Given the settings of the app, WhatsApp may soon support shareable status on Instagram.

Meanwhile, the news tracker also reported that the company is working on a new design across the UI on iOS via WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.7.0.74. The upcoming feature focuses on providing a consistent and modern design for the entire app.

Coming to other updates, WhatsApp is also working on privacy-centric features like lock chats, view-once audio notes more. The Meta-owned platform recently announced a revamped Windows app on the Desktop.
