WhatsApp, a Meta-owned messaging application, tests new features at regular intervals across platforms. In the latest move, the company is developing the option to let users choose the voice of Meta AI from different available options, according to WABetaInfo. The feature was spotted in the Android beta "2.24.17.16" version and is expected to be available in an upcoming WhatsApp build.

As per the report, due to the "under development" character, the voice chat mode for Meta AI is not rolling out to beta testers. The company has been working on a verbal chat mode for Meta AI for a while now on the iOS beta build to let users interact hands-free for enhanced interactions. Users must ensure their beta app is updated so that they receive the feature whenever it starts rolling out.

Based on the screengrab shared in the report, users may get to choose the voice of the chat assistant from the 'Meta AI voice' menu. Meta may offer 10 voices to choose from (above the 'captions and transcription' toggle). This will allow a more tailored response during interactions based on individual preferences. This will also personalise interactions and is expected to boost engagement with Meta AI.

As per the news tracker, the different voice options may increase conversation based on calm, soothing, relaxing and energetic tone feedback. Plus, users may choose to interact with a voice with a particular accent or speech pattern to make conversations more relatable. Above everything else, the mode will help increase the accessibility of the feature.

You must keep your app updated from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store to try out the features once it starts rolling out.
