WhatsApp, a popular messaging platform in India, has now introduced QR ticketing for metro commuters in Nagpur. For those unaware, this service is already available in a few cities including Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Pune. With this new feature, the users in Nagpur can purchase their metro tickets from anywhere using the WhatsApp Chatbot.
How To Book Metro Tickets On WhatsApp:
All users need to do is message 'Hi' to +91 8624888568 or scan the QR code. Following that, users must follow the chatbot's directions to select a destination and manner of payment, and then pay. The new chatbot is available in English, Hindi, Marathi, and Telugu.
“Commuters using Nagpur Metro routes can now order tickets, get real-time updates, and conveniently access vital travel information with the chatbot at their fingertips. The chatbot will have a Quick buy function for passengers who commute regularly on the same route, which will cut down on the time it takes to choose the destination and starting location,” the company said.
Using their preferred payment methods (UPI, Debit, Credit Cards, etc.) within the chat window, a rider can immediately purchase up to six single journey tickets or group tickets for up to 40 commuters through the WhatsApp-based ticketing system.
According to Ravi Garg, Director of Business Messaging at Meta in India, "The introduction of the QR ticketing service through WhatsApp on Nagpur Metro will enhance the customer experience, offering a more sophisticated and intelligent approach to local travel for millions of riders across the city of Nagpur. With this collaboration, we have taken another step towards simplifying the travel experience for people across the country, allowing them to complete tasks right from their WhatsApp chat."
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also reportedly working on the new colours of Default Chat Themes to make chats more interesting for users. The new colours are under testing and are expected to roll out in the coming weeks with new updates.
