WhatsApp Updates: Meta-owned instant messaging application WhatsApp regularly grabs media attention for testing new features in its beta channel across Android, iOS and the web. Soon after the news of the message search by date feature, the company is reportedly adding a search functionality within the Updates tab (previously Status), according to WABetaInfo.

As per the report, the feature is rolling out in the beta build version '23.21.1.72' on iOS. This option will allow users to search channels and the status of contacts. Enrolled testers can update their application from the TestFlight app to check whether the feature is available on their build.
