WhatsApp continues to grab the limelight for rolling out new features and testing (and developing) the upcoming ones. Amid a flurry of updates, the platform is now rolling out the option to forward and rewind videos played within the app via a double tap on the edges. The new enhancement is rolling out for iOS users in the "24.6.77" version, according to WABetaInfo.
The skip forward and back options are "widely rolling out" for users, the report noted. Some users may receive the feature over the coming weeks. Before the official release on iOS, the WhatsApp enthusiast also spotted the feature on Android with the '2.23.24.6' version. Based on the screengrab of the changelog shared in the report, the company is introducing three new enhancements with the update.
Record and Send Videos Instantly: The company said: "You can instantly record and send video messages in chats." While the feature was already available, users can now press and hold the camera button present next to the message typing bar to start recording a video.

Double Tap To Forward/Rewind Videos: With the new update, iPhone users can double-tap on the edge of the video player to forward and rewind videos easily. "You can quick forward/rewind by double tapping the edge of a video," the changelog read. It can help users skip the irrelevant parts of a video and improve video navigation.
Attachment Tray Redesign: The company also said it is introducing a "new design for the attachment tray" in a chat on WhatsApp. WABetaInfo noted that the changes concern the icons and their colours in the tray.
"These features will roll out over the coming weeks," the changelog stated. Users can update their app from the App Store and TestFlight to check out new features whenever they are released. Meanwhile, the company is working on a redesigned status interface. You can read more on this here.
