WhatsApp, a popular social media messaging app, regularly adds new features across its platform for users. Soon after testing the shortcut for AI-powered chats on the platform, the company is now expanding the option to send view-once messages for its desktop app. According to WABetaInfo, the option was removed about a year ago from the desktop version.
It is rolling out for users in the latest version of the desktop app and the WhatsApp Web platform. According to the report, the supported versions include WhatsApp for Windows, WhatsApp for macOS and the Web platform. This comes after the removal of the feature in the past with privacy among key reasons.
According to the screengrab shared in the report, the button that allows sending images with the view-once method is visible at the top of the green send button in the text bar of the drawing editor. This feature is expanding for users on Mac and the beta version of WhatsApp on iPad.

The comeback of the feature is an important development for users who use the feature on a daily basis. This also restricts users from storing the sent media for added privacy. It can help send these ephemeral messages on big screens. The update implies WhatsApp is listening to its users to improve the experience.
WhatsApp Update: Profile Info Within Chat Conversations
Secondly, the company is testing an option to show profile info within chat conversations. Undergoing development in the Android beta version '2.23.25.11', it is not ready for release to beta testers. According to the screenshot shared in the report, the new profile info is visible below the contact name within the conversation window. This will be visible when the user is offline, which will replace the last seen timing if they are not enabled.
