WhatsApp Voice Chats In Groups: WhatsApp, an instant messaging application, has been in the news for introducing and testing new enhancements and updates. In the latest move, the company is introducing a voice chat feature similar to Discord. The update will occupy relatively less screen space than typical group calls that send call prompts to every participant.

According to TechCrunch, these chats are end-to-end encrypted. These audio chats begin without any major changes in the UI. Users can join the voice call using the chat bubble. As per the Meta-owned app, the feature allows users to interact with people within a group live while having the functionality to send messages within the group chat. To start a voice chat, you can follow these steps.

Once the call begins, all group members shall receive a notification to join rather than a full-screen prompt of a typical voice call. Members can view the people tuned into the chat via the banner at the bottom. The company shared that voice chats are only available for groups with a minimum of 33 and a maximum of 128 members.

It is accessible only on the primary device of a user. Members who do not join the voice chat can view the participants in the call from the Calls section and chat header. The calls shall end automatically in case all participants leave. Secondly, "if no one joins the first or last person in the chat for 60 minutes," the chat will end. Users can also leave the chat on their own using the cross button.
