WhatsApp, a popular instant messaging application, is renowned for developing new features and later introducing them on its platform. In this series, the company is now introducing a redesigned sidebar on the web for improved navigation and easy access across sections. According to WABetaInfo, the feature is available to select beta testers who are a part of the beta program on the web.

As per the report, the feature is available in the "WhatsApp Web beta 2.3000.1012734542" update. Because it is rolling out in beta, more testers will get the feature in the upcoming weeks. Similar to the sidebar that was undergoing testing in September 2023 on the web, the redesigned interface provides easy access to different sections on the platform.

The new sidebar will allow easy access to sections such as Chats, Communities, Channels, Status, Archive and Starred. In the screengrab shared in the report, the profile icon and the Settings icon are placed at the bottom. A 'Beta' label is available above the Settings icon. The new chat icon sits at its old position - above the search bar and chats filter. Icons for 'Business' and 'Broadcasting' are placed at the bottom of 'Starred' icons.

Once rolled out, the new interface will allow easy switching between sections and improve the experience on the web. The simple one-click sidebar mechanism to switch between tabs will offer a more modern, intuitive and efficient mechanism for using the web experience. Select users who have joined the beta program are already seeing changes in the UI.
