APPLE'S mixed-reality headset has got the tech fraternity excited before a possible debut at WWDC 2023. But a report from The Wall Street Journal stated that the tech giant is encountering production issues that may have after-effects on the headset's launch and availability worldwide.
As per Gizmochina, the highly-anticipated product has been in the pipeline for seven years. However, despite the long wait, the product has not reached the market yet. Citing sources, WSJ reported that MR headsets might not be available for buying to a considerable majority until fall. The large-scale production may not begin until December, the report stated.

Internal issues with respect to software, production and market fit are the challenges plaguing the product. Hence, the delay in the announcement cannot be ruled out. The Cupertino, California-based tech giant has a track record of delivering a near-perfect product at the time of launch.
Further, Apple has been toiling for "months preparing presentation with a demo" of the headset for a launch at WWDC 2023, as per 9To5Mac. It is rumoured that the product may debut with a price tag of $3,000, which is a considerable premium.
The gadget could have a separate battery pack, as rumoured by reports in the past which is a U-turn against Apple's strategy of in-product integrations. The Mixed Reality headset is expected to "fully enclose" the user's eyes, which would restrict the views of surroundings.
Meanwhile, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo anticipates the project could kick off in September. As for more updates of WWDC 2023, the tech giant could announce the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, macOS, tvOS 17, 15 inch MacBook Air among a flurry of possible launches. The annual conference will begin on June 5 and conclude on June 9, 2023.
