Video Download For DMs In X: Elon Musk's X (formerly Twitter), a popular microblogging app, has been in the news for testing new features and introducing them later for users. These are generally limited to Premium accounts. One such new feature, which is gaining limelight is the option to download videos in DMs. An engineer who has an X-affiliated account (@enriquebrgn) said that users can now download videos on DMs.

According to the engineer, the feature only allows users to download videos "sent starting today" in DMs (20 January 2024). While Enrique has not clearly stated it, the feature to download videos is likely limited for subscribers of the X Premium service. Elon Musk acknowledged X New Daily's post regarding this update and said: "Yay!"

Based on the screenshots in the engineer's post and other users on X, it seems the feature is currently live on the iOS and Android app. Here is a step-by-step guide to download videos in DMs that you send starting today.

X Video Download In DMs: How To Download?

Step 1: X Premium users on Android and iOS can head to the DMs section

Step 2: Look for the video that you want to download from the DM conversations (sent starting today)

Step 3: Long press on the video or open the video in full-screen view and tap the three dots at the top

Step 4: Tap the 'Download Now' option from the list of options to finish downloading the app

On a related note, the X engineer posted recently that "audio and video calls on X [are] slowly rolling out for Android users today." The account added that it will be a Premium-exclusive feature.
