Aadhaar has become one of the most critical identity documents for every Indian; one needs it for everything, be it opening a bank account or getting a new SIM card. Understanding its growing importance, the Unique Identification Authority of India has developed a secure way to enable everyone to access their Aadhaar via WhatsApp for which one does not need an Internet connection, only a registered mobile number.

The government officially has added a feature in the MyGov helpdesk’s chatbot to allow people to instantly download a secure digital copy of their Aadhaar card with a password. It is the DigiLocker integration process that ensures all data remains encrypted and accessible only to the rightful owner.

Aadhaar on WhatsApp: What You’ll Need

Before you can download your Aadhaar via WhatsApp, ensure that you have

- A mobile number linked with your Aadhaar

- An active DigiLocker Account, (if you don’t have one, you can create it easily at digilocker.gov.in)

- And the official MyGov helpdesk no. saved on your phone +91-9013151515.

Step-by-Step: How to Download Aadhaar via WhatsApp

Here’s how you can securely get your Aadhaar card within minutes:

- Save +919013151515: the MyGov helpdesk number in your contact list.

- Open WhatsApp and send a “Hi” to start the chat.

- When asked, you must select “DigiLocker Services.”

- Then confirm if you have an account.

- The account is verified by entering the OTP sent to your mobile no. registered with Aadhaar.

- Once verified, the chatbot will show you a list of all documents linked to your DigiLocker account.

- Select Aadhaar from the list, and your digital Aadhaar card will be sent directly to your WhatsApp chat in PDF format.

PDF documents will typically be password protected using a password that includes the initial four letters of your name in capitals followed by your birth year (for example RAHU1992).

- This service is completely free and works 24/7 on both Android and iOS devices.

Conclusion
