YouTube BrandConnect: Popular video streaming platform YouTube has announced the rollout of 'BrandConnect', the firm's branded content platform for select creators and advertisers in India. With the move, the platform aims to ease the process for YouTubers, brands and leading agencies to collaborate and create and promote sponsored content.
According to YouTube, brands can use the company's proprietary influencer dashboard to manage campaigns and shortlist the influencers for collaboration. Apart from opportunities to earn money, the BrandConnect platform offers self-service tools, a customisable Media Kit, a resource guide and tailored audience insights for creators so that they can pitch to brands.
YouTube BrandConnect Eligibility In India
The minimum eligibility requirements include: a minimum of 18 years of age, eligible for revenue from ads and YouTube Premium under the company's Partner Program, based in the US or India, not have active Community Guidelines strikes and follow the monetisation policies.

YouTube BrandConnect: How To Turn On?
Step 1: Sign in to YouTube Studio using your PC
Step 2: From the left menu, click 'Earn'
Step 3: Head to the 'BrandConnect' tab and press the 'Get Started' or 'Let's Go' button (the BrandConnect tab will only appear for eligible accounts)
Step 4: After reviewing the BrandConnect Module, accept it
You are now eligible for branded content opportunities. However, YouTube Help noted that while "brands can now discover you, signing up does not guarantee the availability of branded content opportunities." These brand offers will appear within YouTube Studio, where users can review them. "Your preferences will automatically filter opportunities to make sure that they're relevant and acceptably priced," the company said.
You can also change these preferences from the Earn section. For eligible users, you can view more details about the offer after clicking 'SEE DETAILS'. The timeline includes three stages: offer, campaign video and performance. According to the company, BrandConnect is in Beta in India and available to "a small group of creators". It will debut in more regions in the future.
