YouTube recently unveiled a revamped design across its mobile apps, web platform and TV interface to provide a cleaner and more immersive video player. As part of their efforts to provide more "expressive and intuitive experiences", this update is being gradually implemented globally.

A Cleaner, More Immersive Viewing Experience

Here, the emphasis is on improving how users watch videos, listen to music and explore shorts—all while continuing to offer a simple user interface with fewer distractions. The differences are subtle but apparent, making the browsing experience feel more seamless and contemporary on any device.

YouTube for TV: Transparent and Organised Controls

For people who watch on TV, the biggest redesign is that of YouTube. The new-look interface includes a see-through control bar which harmonises with the video to appear invisible. Useful utilities such as toggle buttons, video descriptions, like/dislike options and settings can be accessed below the screen.

Not only does this new design appear to be much cleaner, but it also allows users to warp the entire video yet still easily access important controls:

YouTube Mobile: Subtle Player Tweaks and More Control

The mobile YouTube app will also be getting a design refresh, though the changes don’t feel as dramatic on mobile as they probably do on TV. We have also slightly redesigned the video player to carve out additional space for controls, giving users more ways of navigating and quickly accessing playback options.

The YouTube Music app has undergone some subtle modifications, with the Now Playing tab receiving an updated visual look. Buttons and controls have also been adjusted to match YouTube's updated design language, creating a consistent look across devices when accessing these services.

Improved Comments and Reading Experience

Comments are still an essential part of the YouTube community, and in this update, we have updated how replies and threads look! The new design offers a concentrated reading experience that encourages people to read and join the conversation.
