AI has been a hot topic ever since OpenAI’s ChatGPT came into action. Google, Microsoft, Apple, Baidu among others have started following the trend in order to improve and completely change the way the user searches, surfs and consumes information. Interestingly, AI development has not been limited to searches as brands like Zomato are now reportedly all set to introduce generative AI-powered services to their consumers.

Speaking of the specifics, a report by Economic Times suggests that the food delivery giant Zomato has started testing its AI integration to help enhance the customer experience using its new technology. The report suggests that the company is also hiring engineers who specialise in machine learning, data science and natural language.

The report further suggests that the company would integrate AI into the search, notifications and even backend such as product photography and customer support in order to improve the consumer experience. There are speculations that both Blinkit and Zomato would get the AI capabilities.

If the claims are correct, Zomato and Blinkit will be among the first food delivery companies to use AI technologies. "A large part of customer communications within the app are already automated, and the integration with generative AI will be able to handle the increasing loads more efficiently and effectively," added the study.

According to the report, Zomato has been looking for ways to collaborate with companies like Google, OpenAI, and Microsoft in order to create a progressive AI-based system, which is why the companies are looking for talented engineers who can help in developing a better platform.

According to the report's sources, "the company has been consistently hiring engineers with machine learning skills over the past few years”.
