Zoom, a popular video conferencing platform, has now introduced a new feature that will allow users to create, share and edit text documents while they are on a video call. With this new feature, the users will be able to create in-meeting notes and share content within the Zoom Meeting. The company aims to reduce the distractions caused by jumping to third-party applications while users are on the video call.

Users can even work on Notes asynchronously outside of meetings and share them for collaboration at any time and place. After it is created, a schedule is made, and it is distributed to attendees before and after the meeting, a note can be opened and shared with others so that they can collaborate throughout the conference.

After a meeting, a Zoom user can send a note to anyone who might find the information useful. Users will be able to start a new note during a meeting or quickly access existing notes from the in-meeting navigation bar. According to the company, note-makers will have the ability to start a sharing session during the meeting so that everyone may work together in real-time.

"We wanted to provide a clear user experience that allows users to generate agendas and notes while remaining on the Zoom platform rather than jumping to different document management tools," Darin Brown, Zoom's head of productivity applications, explained.

"With Notes, creating and sharing personal and collaborative notes in and out of meetings is seamless," he continued.

Zoom Notes offers extensive formatting options with settings for font, design, bullets, colours, and more. Users may also add links and images to their Notes, and to save time, content is automatically stored after a set amount of time. The feature will launch in the upcoming weeks and be accessible to all customers at no additional cost.
