Hyderabad: A bomb threat mail was received by Hyderabad's Begumpet airport on Wednesday morning, prompting swift action by police and bomb squads.
The threat was detected early in the day, prompting the deployment of a bomb disposal squad and thorough inspections around the airport and the surrounding area, according to the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Begumpet Division.
“We are currently conducting a thorough search of the airport and its premises with the bomb squad. Further details will be provided later," ACP Begumpet said.
A thorough investigation has been initiated, and the area has been blocked off by security forces.

Three days ago, a Lufthansa flight Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner bound for Hyderabad was forced to make a U-turn and return to Frankfurt Airport after reportedly being denied permission to land in India after a bomb threat aleart, according to ANI.
The Hyderabad-bound flight, LH752, departed from Germany at around 14:14 local time and was scheduled to arrive at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport early Monday. However, flight tracker data showed that the flight diverted mid-flight just a few hours into its journey.
