Hyderabad Flyover News:  The Nalgonda X road to Santoshnagar flyover in Hyderabad is expected to be made public by the end of May 2025, according to local reports. An additional budget of Rs 97 crore was authorised by the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) department on Wednesday, January 8, for the construction of the Nalgonda X road flyover to Santoshnagar. The 3.38-kilometre, four-lane flyover is a major project in Hyderabad that is being built as part of the Strategic Road Development Program (SRDP).

According to an Andhra Jyothi report, the flyover, which was previously projected to be built for Rs 523 crore, would now be completed for Rs 620 crore following administrative acceptance of the updated plans made by the GHMC.

With one ramp heading to the Yadagiri Theatre in Santoshnagar and another easing traffic towards Champapet, the four-lane steel flyover would connect key areas of Hyderabad's Old City, starting with the Government Printing Press in Chanchalguda.

When finished, it will improve access to important residential and business sectors by reducing traffic at important intersections, such as IS Sadan, Saidabad, and Chanchalguda.

The flyover's construction was supposed to be finished by June 2023, having started in 2021.

The cost of constructing the flyover increased due to the replacement of electricity poles, underground drinking water and drainage pipes, and land acquisition projects in several areas of Hyderabad's Old City. Costs increased as a result of rising steel, cement, and other commodity prices.

Following a careful analysis of the updated proposals, the MAUD authorised the expenditures.
