In a bizarre incident in Hyderabad, a thief stole a 108 Telangana State ambulance from Hayathnagar on the city's outskirts and led the police on a chase across the city. The incident occurred on National Highway-65 on Saturday morning. After stealing the ambulance from Hayatnagar, the thief fled towards Vijayawada at a high speed, blaring the vehicle's siren.
The Rachakonda police informed that the thief was finally caught on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada Highway. A viral video shows the ambulance being driven at high speed, weaving in and out of a barricaded road near the Choutuppal toll plaza and breaking the tollgate barrier.

The police intensified the chase after the thief hit a cop, John Reddy, while fleeing the scene at Chityala, and later it crashed into the gates of the Korlapahad toll plaza in Kethepalli Mandal. The police finally caught the vehicle by blocking the road at Tekumatla and arrested the suspect, who was found to have a history of theft cases. ASI John Reddy was rushed to a private hospital in Hyderabad for treatment, and his condition was declared stable by the doctors.
Earlier, five people lost their lives and one was injured in another tragic incident when a car plunged into a lake in Telangana's Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning in the Jalalpur area of the Bhudan Pochampally subdivision when a group of friends was traveling from Hyderabad to Bhudan Pochampally. The speeding car lost control and fell into the lake, making a loud noise. The locals around the lake immediately alerted the authorities, leading to a rescue operation.
The injured passenger, identified as Manikanth (21), was rushed to a nearby hospital, while the bodies of the deceased, Vamsi (23), Dignesh (21), Harsha (21), Balu (19), and Vinay (21), were retrieved from the lake. A police official confirmed that a case was registered and a probe is underway to determine the cause of the incident.
