Hyderabad News: The Hyderabad district administration has announced paid holidays for offices and institutions that will serve as polling stations and counting centres during the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election. The decision was made to ensure smooth conduct of polling and counting activities.

Hyderabad Jubilee Hills Election: Paid Holidays Announced for Offices and Institutions

According to the order issued by Hyderabad District Collector Harichandana Dasari on November 7, paid holidays have been declared for November 10, 11 and 14 corresponding to the day before polling, the polling day and the counting day. The directive applies to all government and private offices, as well as institutions where election-related arrangements have been made.

Hyderabad News: November 11 Has Been Declared As Public Holiday

Additionally, November 11, the polling day, has been declared a holiday for all government offices and educational institutions located within the Jubilee Hills constituency. The Collector has also approved special casual leave for government employees who are registered voters in the constituency, allowing them to cast their votes.

The Hindu report cited Collector as explaining that, most polling stations are set up in government schools and offices, which will be temporarily closed during the election period. She added that many teachers and staff members will be on election duty, while some will be participating as voters.

Hyderabad Jubilee Hills Bypolls: Restrictions Imposed Near Polling Stations

The district administration has further directed that bars and food distribution near polling stations will remain prohibited during the election period. Heads of all departments and institutions where polling stations or counting centres are located have been instructed to ensure the implementation of these orders without deviation.

Hyderabad News: Triangular Contest Set for Jubilee Hills By-Election

The Jubilee Hills by-election, scheduled for November 11, will witness a triangular contest among Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), Congress, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). BRS has fielded Maganti Sunitha, wife of late MLA Maganti Gopinath, whose death in June this year led to the bypoll. Congress has nominated Naveen Yadav, while BJP has fielded Lanka Deepak Reddy. The AIMIM has announced its support for the Congress candidate.
