Hyderabad Rain Forecast: Heavy rainfall battered various parts of Hyderabad on Friday, causing significant disruption, particularly during the evening. Following this downpour, residents should prepare for more rain today, Saturday.
The India Meteorological Department-Hyderabad (IMD-H) has indicated that light to moderate rainfall is expected in the city over the next four days, lasting until August 20. On Saturday, a "yellow alert" has been issued, warning of heavy rain likely in isolated regions such as Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal.
Hyderabad Rain Affected Traffic Routes
The sudden rain late Friday affected traffic across major routes, leaving many commuters scrambling to stay dry. According to the IMD-H's latest forecast, Saturday will bring a cloudy sky with light to moderate rain or thundershowers, including possible intense spells and gusty winds reaching 30-40 km/h.

Hyderabad has been experiencing a weather pattern characterised by humidity and comparatively high daytime temperatures, followed by intermittent evening rains. This trend is expected to continue till August 20.
Telangana Districts Experienced Heavy Rain
Other districts in Telangana, including Bhadradri Kothagudem, Kamareddy, Mahbubabad, and Karimnagar, also experienced light to moderate rains and thunderstorms. As reported by the TGDPS, the highest rainfall in the state was 171 mm in Karimnagar, followed by Medak with 129.8 mm. In the city, Patancheru recorded the highest rainfall at 61.5 mm.
Hyderabad IMD Issues Yellow Alert
The IMD has maintained a yellow alert until August 20, anticipating light to moderate rains or thundershowers and gusty winds in the next 48 hours. Maximum temperatures are expected around 34 degrees Celsius, while minimums will be near 24 degrees Celsius.
