Several parts of Telangana, including capital Hyderabad, are expected to witness moderate to heavy rain on Wednesday. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for isolated rains in 15 districts today, warning of lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph in these districts. The authorities are also on alert taking precautionary measures after the meteorological forecast.
The districts under the yellow alert include Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy.
The state administration is on high alert and is taking precautions in these regions. State Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy held a video conference with district collectors to ensure preparedness as the rains are expected to persist for the next five days.

On Tuesday, Hyderabad witnessed heavy rains, causing severe waterlogging and disrupting normal life across the city. A tragic incident occurred when a man was reportedly swept away while trying to cross a flooded road and his body was later found in the Ramnagar area. The Hyderabad Traffic Department has issued warnings about waterlogged roads and advised commuters to take alternate routes.
The heavy rainfall affected not just Hyderabad but also other districts, including Medchal Malkajgiri, Wanaparthy and Siddipet. Yadagirigutta in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district recorded the highest rainfall at 17 cm, followed by Maddur in Narayanpet district with 14 cm.
