Siddiqa Parveen was born in 1987 or 1988, in the South Dinajpur region of West Bengal. Her family was not financially privileged. She resided in poor conditions, and their financial conditions worsened when her health problems became evident. Since early childhood, Siddiqa's irregular growth made life very difficult for her and her family. As per her mother, during an interview, Siddiqa's excessive height growth started when she was 10 years old, which made her day-to-day life very challenging. Her remarkable height was 7ft 8in (2.34m). The huge height made everyday tasks like walking and standing difficult for her. Her height was so huge and her home so small that sometimes she was unable to fit into their house.

The Parveen family faced tremendous difficulties in fulfilling Siddiqa's basic needs. Her dietary needs were higher than normal. Which resulted, financial strain for the family and after a while, it became difficult for them to meet Siddiqa’s special eating and medical requirements.

Siddiqa Parveen’s Education

Despite her being the tallest woman in the world, Siddiqa Parveen's severe mobility and health issues made it impossible for her to receive a formal education. She learned only Bengali as a child and needed interpreters when she started conversing with medical professionals outside of her home state. No accounts are reporting that she ever received any formal education, given that her reality was very much limited by her medical condition and by her reliance on family and local caregivers for aid.

Siddiqa Parveen’s Struggles And Medical Journey

The reason for Siddiqa's abnormal growth was due to a brain tumour on her pituitary gland. It is a rare condition referred to as Giant Invasive Pituitary Tumour. This caused an excessive production of growth hormone, resulting in severe gigantism. Her weight was reportedly over 130kg, along with immensely enlarged hands and limbs.

For almost 15 years, Siddiqa was homebound because of her growing size and the consequent complications in health. The absence of early and accessible treatment further added to her condition, and she became the tallest woman living when her health had already begun deteriorating considerably.
