Billionaire Yohan Poonawalla, Wife Michelle Purchase Mansion In South Mumbai's Cuffe Parade For Over Rs 500 Cr: Report

Yohan Poonawalla Mansion Purchase: Billionaire industrialist Yohan Poonawalla and his wife Micelle Poonawalla have purchased a mansion for more than a whopping Rs 500 crore in South Mumbai's Cuffe Parade area, the Economic Times reported. The property reportedly spans over 30,000 sq ft. The renovation of the mansion will be undertaken by MYP Design studio, which is led by Michelle, the ET said in its report. She is the Managing Director of Poonawalla Engineering Group. 

WHO IS YOHAN POONAWALLA?

As Chairman, Yohan Poonawalla leads two entities -- Poonawalla Engineering Group and Poonawalla Financials Pvt Ltd. He is a shareholder in Serum Institute of India (SII) and the son of Zavaray Poonawalla, one of the co-founders of the company.

He is also a director of the Poonawalla Stud Farms, which is one of the largest stud farms in Asia, and the Poonawalla Racing and Breeding. Yohan is the alumnus of The Bishops School in Maharashtra's Pune. The Wadia College in Pune is his alma mater. Yohan did his MBA from the UK.

"He (Yohan) has diversified and grown the Engineering Group product Portfolios from Butterfly valves to Gate, Globe and Dual plate check valves and Scotch-yoke actuators for use in heavy industries such as refinery, petrochemical, cement and steel, paper and pulp, Pharma, paint and sugar segments with exports to over 46 countries," his website, yohanpoonawalla.com says.
