In a controversial new interview, former US president Donald Trump promised to release UFO footage if he is elected president for a second term. The Republican nominee discussed a variety of topics during an hour-long conversation with American podcaster Lex Fridman, where he briefly touched on America's long-standing interest in UFOs.
The US government has recently released videos showing fast-moving objects in its airspace, sparking calls for more transparency.
During the podcast, Friedman said, "A lot of people are very interested in the footage of UFOs. The Pentagon has released a few videos and there's been anecdotal reports from fighter pilots. So a lot of people wanna know, will you help push the Pentagon to release more footage, which a lot of people claim is available."
Trump signalled his readiness to facilitate further disclosures in the reply, saying, "Oh yeah, sure, I'll do that. I would do that. I'd love to do that. I have to do that."
Fridman highlighted the public's strong interest in UFO footage, noting recent Pentagon releases and reports from fighter pilots. Trump indicated his readiness to push for more disclosures, reiterating his commitment in the reply.
Earlier, Trump discussed the possibility of extraterrestrial life on a podcast with former YouTuber Logan Paul, stating that while there "could be" life on other planets, he wasn't "a believer".
Trump Vows To Release Details Of JFK Assassination Document
Trump also mentioned that he had faced more pressure to release files related to the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy in 1963. When asked about making public a list of people connected to Jeffrey Epstein, the accused sex trafficker, Trump suggested he would "certainly take a look at it" if given the chance.
John F. Kennedy, the 35th president of the United States, was assassinated on November 22, 1963, while riding in a presidential motorcade through Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas.
