Harry Potter Series Casting Update: HBO's Harry Potter TV series is one of the most anticipated shows in recent times. With the addition of new cast members and the return of original actors, the series has taken the excitement to the next level. The magic of Hogwarts is returning in the Harry Potter series and fans of the Wizarding World can't wait to witness this new chapter. The makers of the show have introduced the fresh faces and confirmed the return of Warwick Davis as Professor Flitwick.
Warwick Davis Returns As Flitwick In Harry Potter Series
Warwick Davis, who played Professor Filius Flitwick in all eight original Harry Potter films, is reprising the role for the new HBO series. This time, he will portray only Flitwick, unlike his previous double duty in the films, where he also played the banker Goblin Griphook. In the upcoming series, Griphook will instead be portrayed by Leigh Gill.

Alongside Davis, the actors joining the Hogwarts staff are Sirine Saba as Herbology Professor Pomona Sprout, Richard Durden as the ghostly Professor Cuthbert Binns and Bríd Brennan as Madam Poppy Pomfrey, as per Variety.
HBO also welcomed Elijah Oshin as half-blood Dean Thomas, along with Finn Stephens as Vincent Crabbe and William Nash as Gregory Goyle.

The main cast includes Dominic McLaughlin as the titular boy Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. They will be starring alongside Nick Frost as Hagrid, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge and others.
Harry Potter TV Series Release Timeline
Production of the show is now underway at Warner Bros.’ Leavesden Studios in the U.K., and HBO has been gradually unveiling its expansive cast for the Wizarding World. The Harry Potter series is scheduled to premiere in 2027 on HBO and HBO Max. The crew includes showrunner and writer Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod, who also serve as executive producers alongside series author J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films.
