The Witcher Season 4 First Look: Geralt of Rivia is back on a hunt, but this time with a twist. Liam Hemsworth is taking over the role in the fantasy drama, played by Henry Cavill in the first three seasons of the series. Netflix has released the first look at Season 4 of The Witcher, adapted from CD Projekt Red’s video game franchise and Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels of the same name. The makers have also announced the premiere date of the show. Fans have had a mixed reaction to Liam Hemsworth replacing Henry Cavill as Geralt.
The Witcher Season 4 First Look
On Sunday, Netflix dropped the first-look teaser of the show starring Liam Hemsworth. The clip shows Geralt (Liam Hemsworth) facing a wraith, an unexpected ghostly, vengeful spirit. He tries to fight with his sword, but to no avail. Then he reaches for his chest and crushes a dark, glowing mass, causing the wraith to vanish into black dust. Sharing the post, the streamer wrote, "The continent awaits. here’s your exclusive first clip of liam hemsworth as geralt of rivia in THE WITCHER season 4."

Soon after the first glimpse of the series, fans flooded the comments section with their reactions.
One user wrote, "This looks amazing. Everyone is just hating cos it’s the new cool thing to do," while another commented, "Don’t get me wrong, Liam’s quite a great actor… but Henry WAS Geralt." Another user posted, "Yep that’s a nope from me - no one can replace Henry - I will sadly not continue to watch the series without him being a part of it." Another comment read, "We want Henry."
In October 2022, Henry Cavill announced that he was departing from the series on his Instagram handle. He also revealed that Liam Hemsworth would take over the role of the titular witcher. This came ahead of Season 3, which was released in two parts in June and July 2023, and was Cavill’s final appearance as the character.

The season 4 of The Witcher's logline read: “After the Continent-altering events of Season 3, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies. As their paths diverge and their goals sharpen, they stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys. And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good.”

The Witcher Season 4 Cast
Besides Hemsworth, the Netflix series cast includes Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Joey Batey, Laurence Fishburne, Eamon Farren, Anna Shaffer, Mimî M Khayisa, Cassie Clare, Hugh Skinner, James Purefoy, among many others, as per a Variety report.
The Witcher Season 4 OTT Release
Season 4 will premiere on Netflix on October 30. The new season of The Witcher will feature eight episodes, just like previous ones. Directed by Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, Tricia Brock, Alex Garcia Lopez, and Jeremy Webb.
