India-US Top News: As India and the United States (US) are among the top democracies in the world, they gain global attention as many significant developments take place in both countries. Like other days, various noteworthy incidents took place in both countries on Sunday.

In India, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has achieved the second and final de-boosting operation for the Chandrayaan-3 Moon mission. This activity brings the satellite closer to the moon, however, it is set to undergo internal checks.

Meanwhile, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday reconstituted the party’s apex decision-making body, Congress Working Committee (CWC). Shashi Tharoor, Sachin Pilot, Manish Tewari and several other Congress leaders were inducted into the Congress Working Committee.

Chandrayaan-3 Completes Second Round Of Deboosting; All Eyes On August 23 Landing

The second de-boosting operation of India’s Moon mission, Chandrayaan-3 was completed on Sunday. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said that while this activity brings the satellite closer to the moon, it is set to undergo internal checks.

The agency said that the key components of LM, Vikram (the lander), and Pragyaan (the Rover) are expected to touch down on the moon’s surface on August 23. The lander module is set to touch down on the moon on August 23 at 18:04 hours. Read full news here

Congress Reconstitutes Congress Working Committee; Shashi Tharoor, Sachin Pilot New Additions

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday reconstituted Congress Working Committee, the party’s apex decision-making body. Shashi Tharoor, Sachin Pilot, Manish Tewari and several other Congress leaders were inducted into the Congress Working Committee.

Several other leaders including Former Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi, former union minister Anand Sharma, Alka Lamba, Supriya Srinate, Praniti Shinde, and Pawan Khera, have also been inducted into the committee.

Indian-American entrepreneur and youngest Republican Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said that he would turn down the offer of the vice presidency if he does not win the presidential nomination for the 2024 elections.

“I'm not interested in a different position in the government," Ramaswamy said in an interview with Fox News on Saturday.
