At least one person was killed and six others sustained injuries following a mass shooting at a park in New York's Rochester city, police said. Officers reached Maplewood Park around 6:20 p.m. (local time) following a report of a large gathering where shots were fired, as reported by Rochester First. They found several people suffering from gunshot wounds and a large crowd fleeing the scene.
The police said that a 20-year-old died and another person was in critical condition. They also said that five people have been hospitalized with "relatively minor injuries" as a result of this shooting.
According to the police, some people were taken to the hospital by private vehicle throughout the night and others by ambulance. However, the identity of the victim who was shot has not been released yet.

The Irondequoit Police, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, the Rochester Police, and the New York State Police were among the police agencies who rushed to the park.

“At this point, we don't know how many people were shooting," Captain Greg. Bello said. "We are trying to work our way through as many witnesses as we can. No suspects were in custody,” police said. The police also asked people that anyone who has video of the shooting then send it to Major Crimes or contact Crime Stoppers or call either 311 or 911 with any information.
