A video circulating on social media platform X has ignited widespread outrage, exposing a blatant act of racism against Indian immigrants in the United States. The video, shared by user Alex Rosen, shows an American man visiting shops run by Indians and asking them to sign a petition to "stop the spread of the H-1B virus".

The term "H-1B virus" is used disparagingly in the video to liken H-1B visa holders to a harmful contagion. This visa category, widely used by skilled professionals from India, allows them to work in specialised fields in the US. The video’s creator not only insults H-1B holders but also brazenly records his discriminatory comments, describing the visa as the "deadliest virus" for the United States.

In the video, the man approaches Indian business owners, presenting his inflammatory petition with a mocking tone. Shockingly, he encourages others to join his campaign, fueling anti-immigrant sentiment. The video’s caption, “Getting Indians to sign to stop the spread of the H-1B Virus,” further underscores its discriminatory intent.

The video has sparked a firestorm on social media, with users across the globe condemning the man’s actions as racist and xenophobic. Netizens argue that such content not only targets individuals based on their ethnicity but also misrepresents the contributions of H-1B workers to the US economy.

“You're a horrible little man. Indians are hard-working people, and America wouldn't exist without them. My wife is Indian and she is the smartest, most beautiful, hardworking person I know. Yes, that includes white people,” wrote one user in response to the video.

While another wrote,“If you really want to stop this, go to Corporate offices and get the CEOs to sign it. Why harass few convenience store owners ? The video and your act shows your ignorance on the H1B visa .”

While many Americans supported Rosen, arguing that "America existed just fine without Indians for centuries," they added, "That's why they came to America; they couldn't achieve the same things in India."

Another said, America existed & thrived for our entire existence without Indians, in 1910 there were ONLY 5000 Indians here, America was already built & the POOJEETS just moved in a thriving amazing society, they didn’t make it here in mass until the end of the 19th century under bush .”
