The Yogi Adityanath government has set a new record this year under the Plantation Mega Campaign-2025 (Vriksharopan Mahabhiyan-2025) by planting over 37 crore saplings in a single day. Along with this, several 'Special Forests' have also been established this year.
The government is now taking this initiative forward. In the series of Special Forests that started with 'Eklavya Van', a special program will now be held under the 'One Tree in the Name of a Teacher'(Ek Ped Guru ke Naam) campaign. This program, to honor teachers, will be held on September 5, Teachers' Day, in all forest divisions of the state. In the Kukrail forest area of Lucknow, serving and retired officials of the Forest Department will plant saplings on this occasion.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has set a new record. As part of the plantation campaign, under the theme 'Ek Ped Maa ke Naam 2.0' (One Tree in the Name of Mother 2.0), a total of 37,21,40,925 saplings were planted across the entire state in a single day on July 9th.
