Ayodhya Deepotsav 2025: Preparations are in full swing in Ayodhya for the ninth edition of Deepotsav, which promises to be one of the grandest celebrations yet. This year, more than 26 lakh diyas will light up Ram ki Paidi and the Saryu Ghats, while over one lakh diyas, garlands and flowers will adorn the Ram Lalla shrine.

According to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, special arrangements are being made to decorate the entire Ram Janmabhoomi complex with electric lights and flowers. Pure ghee lamps will be lit inside the sanctum sanctorum of Ram Lalla, Raja Ram, and other deities. Colourful rangolis inspired by events from Lord Ram’s life will be created at the entrances of the Ram Temple and nearby shrines.

Last year, the under-construction Ram Temple’s ramparts glowed with countless lamps, creating a divine atmosphere. This year, the celebrations will extend further, as diyas will be lit across all three floors of the temple. The temples of six deities, Sheshavatar and the Saptarishis located within the ramparts will also be illuminated.

The temple trust has announced that visitors will be greeted by the mesmerising glow of diyas along the Ram Janmabhoomi path. Volunteers will decorate the entrances with intricate rangolis to welcome devotees. Trustee Dr Anil Kumar Mishra said that while the number of lamps will not be significantly increased due to ongoing work in some parts of the complex, a few more diyas will be added this year since the consecration of seven complementary temples and the Ram Darbar has been completed.

In addition to the visual splendour, special prasad will be distributed to visitors, security personnel and temple workers. Along with cardamom seeds, which are regularly offered, this year’s prasad may include ghee laddus.

With days to go, Ayodhya is preparing to witness yet another Deepotsav glowing with devotion and splendour.
