In an inhuman and outrageous way of punishment, eight men who were selling goods outside the Ram temple on Ram Rath in Ayodhya were forced to do handstands and sit-ups.

According to eyewitnesses, the sellers were punished for hours in scorching heat. Now the question is why these men were punished so ruthlessly and humiliated. They did not commit any severe offence but were merely trying to earn a livelihood for their families by selling puja items outside the Ram temple in the Ram Nagri (Ayodhya).
 
 
Selling goods on Ram Path proved expensive for them after the municipal Party launched an anti-encroachment drive. The Ayodhya Municipal Corporation's enforcement team detained street vendors near the Ram Temple, forcing them to perform physically demanding punishments as part of an anti-encroachment drive.
 
After the video went viral and sparked criticism, the civic body, in its defence, said that it had ordered an investigation into the matter and would take action.
 
Ayodhya Municipal Commissioner Jayendra Kumar confirmed that employees from the enforcement team were involved and stated that an investigation is underway. The team will gather statements from the targeted individuals, with the report expected by evening or early Tuesday.
